Stakeholder Engagement

Though working and living in Newport, Rhode Island, I learned how city people interact with coastal resources. Every year, I participate in the City’s Earth Day Harbor Cleanup event. Through my work at Newport Shipyard, I’ve chatted with countless boaters and visitors about the ways they enjoy the waterfront. I use these interactions as an opportunity to both educate the public about Marine Affairs issues and learn about what they care most about. Citizens want public access to the shore, a clean and active waterfront, and a steady workforce, all of which promote the natural beauty of Newport’s outstanding harbor. I am excited to be a champion for the coast to help educate the public about this fragile resource.

Earth Day Clean Up

Above and Beyond

Public Access

Public access to the shoreline. Being a Key role in the State of Rhode Island's Constitution, this is something we should all want for generations to come.
